I went into the Frank Sorrentino Law office located on Jones Ave in Las Vegas NV. hoping for a chapter 7, paid the 1,100.00 on one visit. Two weeks later I was then told I required a Chapter 13 due to my means test. After another appt two weeks later and going through my signing apt I noticed in the paperwork about the additional fees I was not advised about at anytime during any of my appointments nor was I advised that the payment would be applied to the now 4,400 fee. (Please read below for additional comments)
Also the Jones office is not aware of the disabled veteran as described in 38 USC 3741(1) and 10 USC 101(d)(1) nor were they aware of the Service members Civil Relief Act (SCRA). Without being aware of neither this Act nor the wanting to research it made me concerned about their concern about me and my future finances for the coming years, instead their interest was in making the mighty dollar at my expense. So I no longer felt comfortable with their process and practices. Please be aware that that they are not interested in researching the facts provided, rather they go about following the 2005 and previous laws proved by the bankruptcy code and not interested in expanding their knowledge or how it can expand their customer base.. Although this law was enacted in 19 December 2003 their software ("Best Practice Bankruptcy") does not bring to their attention or ability to implement this differentiation and therefore does not take into account of this information. Please be advised that this does not pertain to all service members and all disabled Veterans. From my research I see that it is primarily for those who are service connected at 30% or more. Please do your own research so you can become fully involved and educated about your decision, rights and abilities as an individual. I should have been "excused" from the means test for the Chapter 7 application and petitioned the court in support of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act of 1940, amended 2004.
When I approached my paralegal about this information it resulted in my dismissal from his office. Although still in a professional manner he then answered my questions at my level of knowledge and so I would understand. But this was too late. Not only did he lose only me as a customer, but he also lost any future Veterans I speak with in my situation and also the Active Duty whom I come in contact with each and every day I live.
As a second thought I see how profitable a chapter 13 is for the attorney and in their interest rather than my financial interest and obligation I would be committed to. In my situation I found that I was in the right when I asked about laws that pertain to me.
A return of less than 50% of my payment to them, 3 appointments and a 3 week delay in returning my funds made me realize what others are in store for. If you are considering bankruptcy, first consider going elsewhere, it’s in your best interest.

I may not make the most entertaining commercials, but can assure you that I genuinely care about the difficult situations my clients are in due to an accident that was not their fault. I work hard with my staff to get the best possible result for my clients and remain accesible during the course of the case. Thanks for the input though. It was helpful and I will keep it in mind. - Jack

I actually like Ed Bernstein's commercials, especially the one with his daughter. He has become the most sympathetic of the bunch. Good marketing! Jack's commercials make me wnt to change the channel.

You are so right about Jack Bernstein! I'm surprised that you didn't remember or mention Ed Bernstein....I believe that he probably spends the most on his advertising!

The commercials from the "ambulance chasers" are very memorable!

If there were no accidents, these attorneys would go out of business or have to practice some other type of law.

I agree about the hideous effete Jack Bernstein commercials. He must have been beat up a lot going through school, because he has that sort of personality. If Ed Berstein is his father, he needs to do a bit more parenting with young Jack.
