This little family owned and operated restaurant is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast or lunch. It is located on the south east corner of Green Valley Pkwy and Sunset Rd in Henderson. In the Trader Joe’s center.

They offer a unique take on eggs Benedict they call “benny’s from heaven”. Besides the traditional benny, they offer Nova Scotia Florentine (Nova Lox and baby spinach, with a fresh dill hollandaise sauce), Jack Gilbert (roasted portabello mushroom, roasted Holland peppers, sautéed spinach), and the Black Mountain, my favorite, (slow braised brisket, caramelized Bermuda onions). All “benny’s” are served with poached eggs on top of grilled Thomas’ English muffins and hollandaise sauce.

Weiss makes their own corned beef hash which they call “The Mother of all Hash” using shredded corned beef, new potatoes, and Mayan onions. They have a special recipe for their pancakes which are the fluffiest I have ever had. Their French toast is made from their own fresh baked challah bread and is incredible. They also have homemade potato latkes, matzoh brie, and many other breakfast specialties as well as omelets and other traditional breakfast fare. When you first see the menu, it is difficult to make a decision. You can also try their home baked bagels and Danish.

The lunch menu at Weiss is just as intriguing. They have a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, soups, and salads. On my first visit I ordered a “Clary Silver” (one of their “Bradley Beach Legends” sandwiches) consisting of pastrami, corned beef, Swiss cheese, cole slaw, and Russian dressing). I was hungry and it sounded good. When it arrived, I thought I was on the Travel Channel’s “Man vs. Food” show. This monster was a triple decked mountain of meat and fresh baked rye bread. I was hungry and I?m a big eater, but no way could I finish. So be advised, you can share a “Bradley Beach Legends” specialty sandwich.

Next time you’re in Henderson, I highly recommend Weiss for breakfast or lunch. You might have a hard time deciding what to get, but you won?t be disappointed. You can also get a late breakfast, they serve until 1:00 PM.
