What: Vegas PBS hosts the inaugural 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk benefiting the organization’s Keeping Kids Fit program which targets childhood obesity.

Race starts at 8 a.m.

Details: Participants can register for the race online at www.VegasPBS.org/KKF5K or in person at the Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus. Race fees are $25 for those who register before Oct. 1, $35 for those who register between Oct. 2 and 7 and $40 for those who register on Oct. 8 and 9. Race management will be provided by Las Vegas Running Team.

Packet pick up for the race will be held on Friday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus.  In addition to the 5K Run on Oct. 9, participants will enjoy refreshments, an awards ceremony and post race prize drawings.

Keeping Kids Fit (KKF) is a childhood obesity initiative modeled after the successful Vegas PBS Ready To Learn community outreach program. KKF targets families with children, ages 2 to 12, by providing exercise and nutrition resources to promote a lifetime of healthy habits.
