“Best in Las Vegas”- Show review- Vegas News Channel-March 20

It was a high voltage performance with an energy level which almost rose off the meter! The stage glowed with Gladys Knight’s unique renditions of her hits. Gladys seemed to surrender to the music as she moved her body. Now we saw a demonstration of Gladys’ energetic interpretations and golden singing voice that sky rocketed her to fame in the 60’s and 70’s. Only Gladys can put that much into her songs! And the songs do take hold of the audience, who enthusiastically let her know their devotion throughout the evening. These were beautiful R&B and pop numbers that Gladys’ millions of fans could hear over and over again.

We heard “Midnight Train To Georgia”, “The Way we were”, “You are the Best Thing that ever Happened to me”, “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “Wind beneath My Wings”, and many other beautiful songs.

She told her audience, “Relax and have a ball, it is party time. Save your energy because we are going on a musical trip.” R&B and Pop music has never been as good as with Gladys Knight! Gladys reminisced about the way people danced in the 60’s and 70’s, dancing slowly and holding each other in contrast to today. It is a sign of the times but people still value their relationships and seek enduring love. Love seemed to be the subject in her choice of songs. Gladys thanked the audience for all of those the years they have been fans. Everyone had the feeling that she really appreciated them.

Originally performing together as Gladys Knight & the Pips (The Pips were Gladys’ brother Merald “Bubba” Knight and her cousins Edward Pattern and William Guest), now Merald’s effervescent personality and exceptional talent add a pleasant highlight to the show. His fast steppin’, joking, and unique choreography make him a MUST SEE.
