Excalibur Hotel & Casino and Ivory Star Productions in conjunction with Defending the Caveman donate two admissions to Excalibur show to each April blood donor

Las Vegas, NV, April 1, 2010: United Blood Services has partnered with the popular show Defending the Caveman, Excalibur Hotel & Casino and Ivory Star Productions to offer each blood donor a voucher for two free admissions to see this hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate. This donor gift will be available from April 1 through April 30, 2010. Giving blood is such a simple process that even a “caveman or cavewoman can do it.” This simple giving process takes about an hour and can save up to three lives. Those who are 17 years of age or older, meet the minimum height and weight requirements and who are feeling well are encouraged to give blood three times a year.

“The community’s local hospital patients that are in need of blood are at the forefront of this promotion” states Kelly Byrd, donor recruitment manager for United Blood Services. “The tragic event last week involving the Metropolitan Police Officer is a strong reminder as to why blood donors are needed each and every day. Blood needs to be ready at a moments notice for such unforeseen emergencies. ”

The current blood needs of United Blood Services service area is approximately 300 units per day. Community sponsors, such as Defending the Caveman, Excalibur Hotel & Casino and Ivory Star Productions, provide donor gifts to help recruit donors to one of the four fixed site donation centers and community mobile blood drives.
