I first met Tom almost 10 years ago when he was a full-time car dealer (owner of Integrity Chrysler-Plymouth).
Part-time he played flugelhorn and sang, usually at the long-defunct Kitchen Café, once a popular hang for jazz musicians and fans.
Tom ended up selling the dealership, buying another, opening one in Pahrump and moving there.
But music was in his blood.
Before getting into the car business he was a professional musician, but most professional musicians don’t make a lot of money so he got into cars.
Today, he owns a restaurant in Pahrump – Tommasino’s Fine Italian Dining and All That Jazz – about 65 miles east of Las Vegas.
In addition the great food, there’s great music, every night.
Among the regular performers are Vegas veterans Jessica Marcial, Joe Darro, Michael Shane and Tommy Deering.
And of course Tom Saitta.
Jessica Marcial is there several evenings a week.
“What a place,” she says. “It has a a digital keyboard pad to control the volume of the band for each booth so if patrons don’t want it loud they can ask their server, and Tom pushes a button. Amazing.
“It looks like you are in Tuscany right when you walk in.”
