The UFC 114 Rampage vs Evans  bout on Saturday May 29 at the MGM Garden Arena and was another sell-out for this increasingly popular sporting event.   I watched the event  as part of a standing room-only crowd at a viewing party in Lagasse’s Stadium at The Palazzo.

The matches were hosted by Shane Carwin ,the undefeated UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion.  After posing for a few media photos, Carwin and his wife Lana sat front row in the Stadium section to watch the fight, the perfect viewing area with plush couches, pillows, and a large 9’ x 16’ flat screen television.  Shane enjoyed dining on Emeril Lagasse cuisine.

Shane graciously gave autographs and posed for pictures during the fights. He talked with his many fans about the evening’s fights as well as his next match at UFC 116.

The energy at Lagasse’s was high and seemed almost like being at the event.  I met some fans who actually had tickets to the fight, but decided to watch the event at Lagasse’s to get a better view of the action and enjoy the ambiance.

Lagasse’s seems to have developed a good formula for having celebrities host sporting events. They had Bobby Knight host part of the NCAA Basketball Tourney and Chad Palminteri host the recent Kentucky Derby.It is a great place to watch an event in upscale comfort and you can place bets at the counters inside Lagasse’s.
