Vinnie Favorito is f’n funny.  It’s not surprising to me that he just celebrated his fifth anniversary in Vegas and is playing to full houses at his 8 p.m. show at the Flamingo.

Vinnie’s advertisements tout his show as “completely f’n crazy.”  He lets loose with the “F bomb” early in his routine, just to let you know how things are going to go. They’re going to go raw and over the line for some folks. But he isn’t one of those comics who must cuss in every sentence.  He doesn’t need it –he has the audience and we are the source of his material.  He asks three questions, “What’s your name, where do you live, and what do you do?”  After that, you are mince meat at Vinnie’s banquet of hysterical humor.

No one is off limits to this Boston bred comic who is known as one of the best roasters in the business.  White, black, Hispanic, Asian, young, or old, Vinnie will make fun of you, your looks, your ethnic background, your profession.  He mimics a Mexican speaking, comments on the generous bosom of a young woman, and  explains a three syllable word to a black man, just because he’s black.  He exploits and explodes stereotypes.

“Are there any terrorists in the room?” he asks.  “I’ll find them,” he tells us.  So look out if you look mid-eastern. He’ll find you and tease you. “What flight school did you go to?” he’ll ask.   Mexican? “What hotel are you in front of?”

You might be thinking, this guy offends everyone.  Well, sort of.  But underneath all of  his material, if you look carefully, you just might see that gleam in his eye.  There’s a message in the gleam.  We’re all the same down deep.  So let’s laugh at each other and at ourselves.

I couldn’t hear myself laughing at Vinnie’s show.  The roar of laughter of the crowd around me drowned out the sound of my own enjoyment.  He’s funnier every time. Go see Vinnie Favorito’s 8 p.m. show at the Flamingo.  He is f’n funny.
