Vegas! The Show Salutes The Best of Vegas

Vegas! The Show at the Saxe Theater in the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile takes a wonderful magical journey back to Vegas the way it was.  This fabulous production deserves a long run. No laser lights, no blaring music, just a solid entertainment extravaganza and a salute to the timeless talent that created the foundation for Vegas today.

David Saxe has given his all to every detail in the 90 minute show.  The result is clean crisp quality- a show you will want to see and enjoy a second time.

As the curtain rises, you meet the incredible Eric Jordan Young in Vegas’  Neon  Graveyard.  He is there to be sure that the past is not forgotten.  “Let me show you a time when people went all in” he tells us. Then we are taken on a journey to the talent, glitz, and glamour that lured people to Las Vegas.

There’s the Kasbah Lounge and a salute to Louis Prima and Keelie Smith. You will hear Old Black Magic and watch the talented energetic dancers “jump jiving”.  Tribute is paid to  the Rat Pack, Tom Jones (What’s New Pussycat), Sonny & Cher (Babe), Tina Turner (Rollin’) and of course – Elvis. No salute to old Vegas is complete without homage to Liberace.  Joseph Gabriel’s unique act features a piano playing Liberace marionette. Later, Gabriel pays tribute to the magicians of Las Vegas.  The impeccable timing and tap dancing of identical twins Sean and John Scott salutes the variety acts.

Tiger Martina has poured his spirited imaginative choreography and direction into every number honoring the performers, songs and dances including Luck Be A Lady Tonight, Hey Mambo, and Candy Man, the show-stopping tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr, complete with a high kicking chorus line.

An 11 piece orchestra led by Band Leader Jerry Lopez and musical director Pat Caddick backs up the 40 talented performers including Reva Rice, Tara Palsha, and Tom Lowe.

Elton John’s Rocketman is coupled with footage of old Vegas casinos tumbling down to make way for present day structures.  Today’s Vegas has much to offer, including some great David Saxe productions, but kudos to Saxe for saluting some of the best of times.
