Three-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow is coming to rock The Joint. Joining Crow will be the talented singer and songwriter Brandi Carlile. This performance by two great female rockers will take place Saturday, Sept. 11.

Catapulted to success in 1993 with the seven-time platinum Tuesday Night Music Club, Crow established herself as a fixture in the music community early in her career.  She went on to earn three Grammys for the album including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the classic “All I Wanna Do.”  The album also featured hits “Strong Enough,” “Can’t Cry Anymore,” and “Leaving Las Vegas.”

In 1996, Sheryl’s second album, Sheryl Crow, earned a Grammy for Best Rock Album and for the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.  1998′s platinum The Globe Sessions also garnered the Best Rock Album Grammy, ”Everyday Is A Winding Road” and “My Favorite Mistake” both reached the Pop Top 20.

The new millennium brought 2002′s platinum C’mon C’mon, the single “Soak Up The Sun” peaked in the Top 20 and she again nabbed a Best Female Rock Vocal Performance Grammy for “Steve McQueen.” The four-time platinum 2003 greatest hits compilation, The Very Best Of Sheryl Crow, was also a #2 charter, featuring a cover of Cat Stevens’ “The First Cut Is The Deepest.” 2005′s platinum Wildflower featured the duet with Sting, “Always On Your Side.”

In 2008, Detours was released and the fearlessly outspoken Crow continued a journey of self-discovery that has increasingly appealed to both the head and the heart. Crow recently released a new album titled, 100 Miles From Memphis.

PIXIES Saturday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at $39.50                                                                                       On sale now

After nearly 40 sold out shows on three continents since Fall, 2009, alternative rockers Pixies are bringing The Doolittle Tour back to the U.S.A.  The 11-city trek will extend the 20th anniversary celebration of the release of the band’s classic 1989 album, Doolittle.  The tour will make a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 25.

On this tour, Pixies – Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering – will perform all of the songs from Doolittle and its related B-sides, “Weird at My School,” “Dancing the Manta Ray,” and “Bailey’s Walk” among them.  Doolittle, the band’s third album and the first to chart on Billboard’s album charts, includes classics such as “Debaser,” “Wave of Mutilation,” “Here Comes Your Man,” “Hey,” and “Gouge Away.”

An imaginative cinematic production has been created for The Doolittle Tour.  Designed by long-time Pixies lighting designer Myles Mangino and designer Paul Normandale, the set features four huge, undulating, eyeball-like spheres flown just below the lighting rig and are part of the concert’s light show.  Filmmakers Judy Jacobs, Tom Winkler, Brent Felix and Melinda Tupling were brought on board to create 11 films especially for the production.  The films are projected onto a massive backdrop video screen to accompany 12 of the 21 songs that comprise the show.

BAND OF HORSES                                                                                           Monday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m.

(Special guests Admiral Radley and Darker My Love)

Tickets start at $25                                                                                           On sale now

Band of Horses will play The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Monday, Sept. 27. Infinite Arms, Band of Horses’ third full length LP and first for Brown/Fat Possum/Columbia, sold over 45,000 records in the week following its release, debuting at #7 on the U.S. album chart. Infinite Arms debuted #2 in Norway, top 10 in Canada, top 20 in Australia and New Zealand, making an impressive international showing overall. Band of Horses with perform with special guests Admiral Radley featuring members of Grandaddy and Earlimart as well as Darker my Love.

The band’s career chart high to date comes in the wake of a North American tour supporting Pearl Jam, during which BOH’s Ben Bridwell joined the headliners for multiple encores of “All Along The Watchtower” as well as a climactic and rarely played version of Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike” at Madison Square Garden. Band of Horses has been anything but inactive since wrapping those dates, appearing May 27 on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, days after sneaking in a stripped down acoustic set at the Masonic Lodge at L.A.’s Hollywood Forever cemetery. The band has also knocked out electric sets from the Roxy to Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern, and filmed a video for the single “Laredo” with Mark Pellington in Pioneertown CA—where they fit in an impromptu May 23 set at Pappy & Harriet’s.

Additionally, Band of Horses contributed “Life On Earth” to the upcoming Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, and will be adding a leg of July dates to a globe-spanning 2010 tour that will include some of its biggest headlining shows to date from New York’s Williamsburg Waterfront to the Greek Theaters of Los Angeles and Berkeley.

ALICE IN CHAINS Saturday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m.

(Special guests Deftones and Mastodon)
Tickets start at $65                                                                                           On sale now

This fall, Alice In Chains will be joined by special guests Deftones and Mastodon on BLACKDIAMONDSKYE, a monolithic triple bill that is guaranteed to be the hottest ticket of the fall touring season. The rollicking roadshow will make a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Multi-platinum-selling headliners ALICE IN CHAINS are touring in support of Black Gives Way To Blue (Virgin/EMI), which was named “Album of the Year” at the recent Revolver Golden Gods Award show. Fueled by the Grammy nominated smash “Check My Brain,” which rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Songs Chart, Black Gives Way To Blue entered Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 5. They maintained momentum with follow-up hit “Your Decision,” which also hit No. 1 on the Rock Songs Chart, along with a string of sold out headlining tours around the world. The album has also been drawing rave reviews from fans and critics alike: Playboy gave it four stars, calling it “Alice In Chains’ Back In Black.” The Boston Globe wrote “Alice In Chains is back in business and business is good,” Metal Hammer said, “Alice In Chains are back and every bit as exciting and heavy” and a Guitar World magazine reader’s poll voted Black Gives Way To Blue “Rock Album of the Year.”

DEFTONES, one of the most enduring and influential forces in modern rock, released on May 4th their long–awaited new album Diamond Eyes. The sixth full-length studio effort by the Grammy-winning, platinum-certified group was produced and mixed by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters). The band recorded the album after their best friend and bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury from a car accident in November of 2008. “After Chi’s accident, it would have been easy for us to make a sad record,” says singer and guitarist Chino Moreno. “But really, this is an optimistic record.” MySpace.com recently premiered a brand-new video for lead single “Diamond Eyes,” which was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, B-52’s). Prior to hitting the road on BlackDiamondSkye, Deftones will play a string of U.S. shows, followed by dates overseas.

Globally celebrated, critically revered, hard rock masterminds MASTODON have created one of the most daring and praised albums in recent years with their current and 5th full-length effort Crack the Skye, which entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #11. Following a spate of late night TV appearances and a pair of groundbreaking Roboshobo-directed videos, the band toured the world non-stop following the album’s March 2009 release. Crack the Skye placed on numerous “Year End / Best of 2009” critics lists and readers polls, including an impressive No. 8 entry on the prestigious Village Voice Annual Pazz & Jop Critics Poll’s “Top 25 Albums of 2009” list.  Time magazine placed it third on its list of the top ten “Best Albums of 2009,” writing, “Thunderous, disciplined and expansive…the ambition and tenacity of Mastodon’s music makes Crack The Skye sonically unforgettable.” In recent months MASTODON has performed on their own, co-headlined with Dethklok and toured Europe and Latin America with Metallica, further expanding their notoriety as a peerless live force of nature.

BlackDiamondSkye spotlights three distinctly different and influential artists and fuses their individual fan bases into a single entity,” remarked David “Beno” Benveniste, founder of Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group, who represent Alice In Chains and Deftones. “This is the poster kids will want to have on their walls, and ten years from now people will look back at this as a timeless and important tour.”

INTERPOL                                                                                                        Friday, Oct. 22

(Special guests White Rabbits and Imagine Dragons)

Tickets start at $29.50                                                                                       On sale now

Indie rockers Interpol are touring in support of their fourth album this fall and will be making a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, Oct. 22. Interpol performed two high-energy shows in the old Joint and fans have been awaiting their return for another great performance in the new venue. Opening up for Interpol will be special guests White Rabbits and Imagine Dragons.

The long-awaited self-titled fourth album from New York’s Interpol, finds them exploring dark musical landscapes of layered depth and intensity. In contrast to ‘Our Love To Admire,’ this self-titled opus hangs together as an album, a set of very different songs that thematically connect. From the highly melodic “Barricade” and “Lights” through the snarling “Memory Serves” and the extraordinary triptych of connected tracks that close the album, Interpol have never made work this emotionally resonant or packed with crescendos.

Mixer Alan Moulder has brought the rhythm section back to the fore, anchoring a thicket of orchestral sound that brings to mind touch- stones from black metal to ‘70s art rock, but always remains identifiably Interpol. Hypnotic, bizarre, always indelible, ‘Interpol’ is the band’s magnum opus.

Now a core trio made up of Paul Banks (vocals, guitar), Daniel Kessler (guitar) and Sam Fogarino (drums), Interpol are bolstered live with the addition of Dave Pajo (Slint, Papa M, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) on bass and Secret Machines’ Brandon Curtis on keyboards.

WIDESPREAD PANIC Saturday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m.

(Special guest Gov’t Mule)

Tickets start at $44.50                                                                                       On sale now

Widespread Panic has announced dates for their much-anticipated fall tour. The tour will make a stop in Las Vegas and they will be joined by special guest Gov’t Mule. Widespread Panic will play The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Oct. 23.

Following the release of their acclaimed album Dirty Side Down (career high Billboard chart debut), Widespread Panic and ATO Records will release the two-disc / three-vinyl set Live In The Classic City II on Sept. 28. These recordings are significant because they are the first time Widespread Panic asked their fans, who are regularly permitted to record and circulate live performances, to refrain from recording these particular shows.

Live In The Classic City II includes special guests Mike Mills (R.E.M.), percussionist Arvin Scott, producer John Keane as well as vocalists Daniel Hutchens and Anne Richmond Boston. Chosen from the same set of dates, Live In The Classic City I was released in 2002 and went on to sell over 100,000 copies. The collection featured special guests such as Bill Berry (R.E.M.), Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones), Randall Bramblett (Traffic, Steve Winwood), Col. Bruce Hampton, and Derek Trucks (Allman Brothers).

The tour will make a stop in Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 10 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Opening up for The Black Crowes will be rockers Truth & Salvage Co.

The Black Crowes take flight like never before with their first-ever double album of all acoustic material, Croweology. Due out Tuesday, Aug. 3, their new album features new arrangements of their best-loved songs and catalogue picks.
